This is a great telescope for my kidsThis is a great telescope for my kids. I got this scope to teach my 5-year-old about astronomy and this scope has exceeded my expectations. At first glance, it is a small aperture, but includes a very nice red dot finder scope and an alt-azimuth “Dobsonian” style mount. This is great for my kids as we will mostly be looking at bright objects in the sky and won’t need the aperture for distant objects or the full field correction for doing astro-photography.As for the quality, the mount and telescope are well constructed and the primary mirror was perfectly collimated upon arrival and required no adjustment to get up and going. One of the screws for the elevation stage had fallen out during shipment, but it was very easy to put it back and holds well. The kit includes two eyepieces, one for wide-field viewing (17mm) and a short focal length (10mm) for distance viewing. The wide-field looks to be of great quality and I plan to use that as the main power-house… the short eyepieces in kits like these will work for distance viewing, but they have a very narrow field, and are uncomfortable to use in my opinion, that said, the optical quality of the one included in this kit was pretty impressive, I was able to clearly see the rings of Saturn and it’s brightest moon, Titan.It also has a modular lens cap that is able to stop down your entrance aperture for viewing very bright objects like the moon and Venus. i find this feature very nice, as the full aperture tended to be a little too bright for the moon in my opinion.Overall I’m very happy with this purchase and would happily recommend this scope for anyone looking to get into astronomy or as an educational gift for a child.If you’re a discerning amateur astronomer, stay tuned, as I am planning to get this mounted on my tracker and use it for some photography with my DSLR in a few weeks, I’ll post some pictures when I get them.

Good telescope for begginers z114 (follow up review, will be updating)Excellent telescope for beginners came properly collimated and lets you see a bunch of stuff. It’s not heavy, it’s very portable. The images provided (Omega Centauri, the Moon, Orion Nebula, the Jewel box cluster, m41, Great Nebula in Carina, Saturn (220x), and Jupiter are roughly what you would see directly into the eyepiece in polluted skies (some of them with a 2x Barlow) with the default eyepieces, sorry for the quality, but I don’t have a cellphone adapter yet and my hand isn’t very steady.For planets, I strongly recommend getting a higher power eyepiece, if you want a budget one, you can go for the famous goldlines.The only bad thing about this scope is that it has a little bit of coma, an aberration that makes stars in the edge of your field of view be seen as comets.Update: 1- Don’t try to put heavy things in the focuser, because it will tilt and misalign. It’s a plastic focuser.2 -You can see up to magnitude 6 from Bortle 8/9 polluted skies (7560 μcd/m2 Artificial brightness).3- It work’s great with an ASI 120 MC-S.

I really do want to love this telescope The first thing right out of the box I noticed that the focuser is not only plastic but very loose. I did try to adjust the screws and I couldn’t pin them down any further without damaging the actual telescope. I have to be honest the only reason I bought this telescope is because Orion messed up my order and didn’t send me the telescope I wanted. This one was recommended to me and so far everything else on it works well. The laser finder works better than I thought it would and the eye pieces aren’t half bad. I like the base and the telescope feels very portable. But the fact that the finder is so loose concerns me. I have other telescopes that this does not happen. If the company will reach out to me and possibly send me another finder I can review and change this right up later. Right now I’m looking to a local telescope shop to see if I can order one that’s maybe less delicate.

greater starter scope for the familyMy 6 year old asks me about Jupiter and Saturn every night with them being in view, so I did some minimal research and got this. With other young ones running around, I realized having a tabletop scope with no tripod would be easier (for the kids) and safer. I have it on a small table (still need a stool for the younger ones) and the adults have to bend down but no one minds for a quick look. This is my first personal one as well so I don’t have a lot to compare to, but every aspect of it has been ideal so far. It came collimated and ready to go. I pulled the manual from the web for the basics but it was pretty straight forward to put together. The laser viewfinder works well, and I can easily point directly to several stars and planets (even at 92x). With the 10mm lens and a separate 2x barlow Saturn’s ring is easily visible. I feel like I am reaching the end of magnification, but plan to order a 6mm lens as well just to try it. With the 10mm + 2x the full moon takes up the entire view and you get a lot of crater details.Note I am in the city and this still performs well and blows away the neighbors (kids and adults).

Great starter scope…Since the Zhumell z130 can’t be purchased for anywhere near MSRP, this is the beginner scope to get.It is easy to use (and more portable than the z130).The cover can be used without the small inner cap, so you won’t need a moon filter to tone down the brightness.With the included eye pieces I can see the moon very well. I can see the rings around Saturn and I can just make out the stripes on Jupiter (but not the red-spot).Professional reviews say they this scope is good for deep sky objects–but thus far I haven’t been able to find any… Looking to add a Barlow &/or Zoom lense (hopefully that will be enough to see some nebulae).

Perfect for beginnersPerfect for beginners who want to start this hobby. Collimation might be a task but I just think that that is “tuning up” your gear. Having fun with this scope. Will invest on a better mount for astrophotography but for visual use, you dont need that. Here’s some of my shot after post-processing. Clear skies!

EntäuschtIch habe das Teleskop nun seid ein paar Monaten. Erwartet keine Wunder. Man sieht deutlich mehr Sterne durch als mit blossen Auge. Auch der Spiegel braucht nur cirka 10 Minuten bis er sich an die Umgebungen angepasst hat um ein recht klares Bild wiederzugeben.Die mitgelieferten Okulare sind natürlich Mist.ich habe seid dem viel versucht, nachgekauft um mehr herauszuholen. Ich empfehle eine 3er Barlow und ein gutes Marken zoom okular zu kaufen.aber ab 23 mm stösst es an seine Grenzen und Sterne verschwimmen sind kaum noch scharf zustellen.Ich habe nächste in der Kälte gestanden und viele klare Nächte gefroren und herumexperimentiert.der Mond ist mit Zoom und barlow gigantisch .selbst wenn luftunruhe zu sehen ist, versucht es noch ein bisschen das i Tüpfel. Aber erwartet nicht wie versprochen, Galaxien, Nebel etc. In voller Leuchtkraft zu sehen.das ist sehr ernüchternd wenn man mit falschen Erwartungen rangeht. Trotzdem ist ein dopson gut, mehr Qualität als wenn man für den selben Preis andere Tekeskoptyprn holt mit mässig Zubehör. Zubehör ist nicht gleich ein indietz dafür das du ein Top Gerät hast.Ärgerlich ist das über zhumell fast nix im deutschen Raum ist. Nur in England ist es mehr verbreitet.hät ich das gewusst hält ich es wohl nicht gekauft denn du findest nichts im deutschen Raum an erfahrungen mit diesen Teleskop.jetzt werden viele Gegner sagen, ha wir leben in einer globalen Zeit und jeder muss fliessend englisch beherrschen. NEIN, muss ich nicht. Und selbst 13 Schiljahre, lehren sich einen ANDEREN englischsprachigen Gebrauch als für Teleskope. Find ich ärgerlich, denn ich erwarte von Anbietern das sie auch international unterstützen und es nicht als selbstverständlich betrachten alles perfekt in Englisch zu verstehen.aber nun gut.Wer Sterne sehen will, mein Mann sagt immer nur du siehst doch eh nur Punkte, dann ist er hier richtig, wer mehr will muss mehr ausgeben.virl mehr.und ich spare auf ein besseres Gerät hin, ab 1500 Euro um mehr zu sehen können .Wichtig ist doch zu sagen, das das Suchrohr in Nullkommanix nicht mehr zu gebrauchen ist.baterie leer ist….Ich muss mich erstmal schlau machen.abmontieren…..ob man was austauschen kann, denn hier kommt man am Support auch wieder an seine Grenzen und sie helfen einen nicht weiter.Ebenfalls schrieb ich den Support an um in Erfahrung zu bringen wie ich das Maximum herausholen kann,ob nebelfilter Sinn machendes. Keine Mühe gemacht.es kam nur die Antwort wenn ich nicht zufrieden sei soll ich es zurück schicken.also vergisst den Support zu kontaktieren.Aber gut wer es liebt in die unendlichen WEITEN DES WELTALLS zu blicken darf sich nicht unterkriegen lassen und es wird nicht der erste Griff ins Klo sein.Als Anfängertekeskop würde ich es dennoch nicht bezeichnen. Oft lese ich das kinder solche Teleskope kriegen. Ehrlich, rate ich davon ab.grht mit denen in Sternwarten anstatt ein Vermögen auszugeben.

Zhumell macht nichts falschhab lange überlegt, welcher kleine Dobson mir ins Haus kommt…vor Zhumell hab ich lange zurückgeschreckt aufgrund der hohen Einfuhr/verschiffungskosten. Da kam mir der neuerliche Preissturz sehr gelegen..Das Teleskop ist nicht nut gut anzusehen, er macht auch alles gut, woran ich bei der Konkurrenz immer Bedenken hatte, die Bresser Dobsons etwa haben alle diesen fürchterlich grossen Fangspiegel samt der billigen Plastik-Stangen und dazu den elend langen Okularauszug.Das AWB 130 oder Skywatcher Heritage 130, dort hätte ich Bedenken ein grosseres Okular oder eine Cam anzubringen, etwa ein schweres Zoomokular. Vielleicht ist die Angst unbegründet, aber es sieht mir zu wackelig aus für sehr schwere Okulare.Beim Zhumell ist die gesamte Fangspiegel-Konstruktion aus Metall, Streben und Fangspiegel sind für wenig Obstruktion gut durchdacht. Der Okularauszug ist bombenfest, hat 0 Spiel und erlaubt gutes fokussieren. Keine Bedenken, falls auch mal ein grosses Okular wie Baader 8-24 Zoom dran soll.Die Box selbst, inklusive Aufhängung und die grosse Schelle für den Tubus sind stabil und verteilen den Anpressdruck gleichmässig, das Bewegen und Verschieben des Teleskops in der Schelle ist mit einer grossen Daumenschraube möglich in Sekunden, wurde toll gelöst.Unnötig zu erwähnen, dass das Teleskop einen guten Parabolspiegel hat und keinen Kugel-Klamauk.Ein klasse Teleskop, das immer interessant bleiben wird aufgrund seiner Mobilität, auch für Leute, die daheim ein viel grösseres Teleskop haben.

Excelente telescopio en un tamaño muy compactoEste no es el primer telescopio que tengo. Es el cuarto. Tengo telescopios mucho más grandes (12 pulgadas) y también algunos más pequeños.Pros* Este telescopio tiene una óptica excelente y prestaciones que usualmente no se encuentran en telescopios de este tamaño.* Tiene un espejo parabólico y ajuste para poder colimar tanto el primario como el secundario.* Los oculares que lleva de fábrica son los mejores que he visto incluidos en un telescopio de este tipo. Por supuesto aún así recomendaría comprar oculares mejores.* La calidad de fabricación es muy buena.* El buscador de punto funciona muy bienCons* El enfocador no es de primera. No es corriente, funciona bien, pero no tiene ajuste fino. Sin embargo no creo que afecte significativamente el funcionamiento del telescopio. Por otro lado incluir un enfocador de primera hubiera incrementado significativamente el costo del telescopio.

Suficiente para ver la Luna y planetasTengo otros telescopios y compre este por su facilidad de transporte. Evidentemente no es el “Hubble” :-)Antes de comprarlo recomiendo adquirir un colimador laser, ya que el telescopio llego con los tornillos del primario flojos y el secundario desalineado. Con el colimador se ajusta en cinco minutos. Si los transportas y recibe sacudidas es probable que se tenga que realinear.Si no tienes experiencia en telescopios, este esta muy bien como un primer telescopio, pero te aconsejo que leas antes lo básico del uso del telescopio, el cielo y los ajustes de un dobsoniano newtoniano.La calidad de los dos objetivos incluidos es también aceptable.El buscador de punto Led es muy básico y se desajusta con facilidad.
