Excellent and reliable driveI have a Unifi setup, with 4 WiFi cameras. I was using the Cloud Key Gen 2+ with the 1Tb included HD, but I was having alot of issues with pulling up footage, live views, lagging, etc, on the gen2+. But now I upgraded my setup to a Dream Machine Pro SE, with a Unifi WiFi 6 Pro Access Point, with this 12TB WD surveillance drive, and it works FLAWLESSLY! Make sure you buy a surveillance grade HD, other HDs like for a PC gamer build, they will fail within a few months, believe me, it’s happened to me. I get 120 days of continuous storage with my 4 WiFi cameras. All my issues were resolved! No lag, scrubbing is smooth and easy, live views on my local WiFi and on 5G on my iPhone using the Unifi protect app all work great now! It’s a FAR more reliable setup and I would encourage anyone who wants to use Unifi to go this route for your home security cameras.

This drive fit perfectly as an upgrade storage drive for our HIKVision deviceThe drive was automatically recognized and the operating system asked if I wanted to initialize the drive. Within a few minutes the drive was recording. Only change was that I needed to update the system time as that got reset in the power down or initialization process.

Not registering at SATA 3.I ordered one of these for a Blue Iris PC NVR and when using the WD Dashboard the drive only registers as SATA 2 (3.0 Gbps). I swapped cables and ports thinking it may be the computer, did not change the speed. I contacted WD and they told me to contact Amazon for a replacement. Received a replacement drive the following day, same exact issue. Both drives were manufactured in Thailand on November 14th 2021, I think this is a bad batch of drives. I installed a Seagate SkyHawk and a WD Red Pro into the same slot with the same cables and both registered at SATA 3 (6.0 Gbps). I reinstalled the WD Purple Pro and it was still SATA 2. I will be returning both of these drives and getting a Seagate.

FRIGGIN. ROCK. SOLID!Plug and Play, Rock Solid, (I would have given it 5 stars on the easy to install but you have to make sure you get precise alignment on the connector to push it in to connect. Very minor issue just don’t force it.)Quiet, serious capacity, Network Video Recorder grade drive.Yes you can buy cheaper, but I don’t think you can buy better. I believe this is my 3rd or 4th NVR drive.

Honest reviewI purchased this product about 1 month ago. It was installed on my Synology DS1517+ to store live recordings from my 5 security cameras. It has worked flawlessly as expected. I always try to find one thing that can be improved on products that I review but honestly I’m having a hard time with this one.

Solid DriveGot it for my Ubiquiti dream machine SE ,18 TB ,it is little noise compared to other drives I’ve owned but works flawless ,would definitely buy again.
