Beyond ExpectationsA recent campground site showed an open ground at our power pedestal. An electrician came by to check and found nothing wrong with the connections but a low ground fault reading. He checked the other 5 pedestals on our circuit which also showed a low ground fault reading but couldn’t find the source. He asked to borrow my surge protector to diagnose the problem since it seemed to be more sensitive than his circuit analyzer. Using it, he eventually found a loose ground where the main line fed our circuit. I was very impressed and am completely confident in how sensitive this unit is and how well it works.

Safey first. Easy to use. RuggedWe use this safety device with our RV. It is super easy to hook up. It takes 5-10 seconds to run tests on the line voltage from the meter before it hooks to our unit. The design and continuous testing operation provide full time monitoring of critical electrical parameters. We’ve used it for about 60 hours at 4 different locations without any hiccups. It is well constructed and I expect it to hold up well. I’ll file an amended report if it does not stand the test of time.

Corroded terminals new out of the box.I ordered the Surge Guard 34931 through Amazon and the plug terminals are discolored and have corrosion on them. I spoke to Amazon support and returned it to get a replacement. The replacement also has discolored and corroded terminals. Pictures attached.I could clean them, but my concern is if they are in that condition, then the receptacle end might be in the same condition, which is difficult to see or clean. Same with the internal components.Even though the label says New Item, it makes wonder if they aren’t used/reconditioned.I contacted Southwire and they said the terminals should be bright and shine. They also said corrosion is not covered under warranty, so returning it would be my best option.

Protects your RV electrical system.Coming from a 40 year career in electronics, I can confidently recommend this product. Very high quality, and works as advertised.I use a long shank padlock around the power cable, along with a chain, to keep it from disappearing while we’re away from our campsite.

Protects my electrical system in my conversion vanI researched the need for a “surge protector” for my conversion van and there was definitely a lot of information out there…namely that surge protection is only a small part of what is needed to ensure my electrical system is not damaged by faulty wiring at RV site. Very easy to use. Plug into the post, wait 10 seconds and when light turns green you know it is safe to plug in your RV. It is quite pricey but compared to the damage a surge or faulty wiring could do to your entire electrical system and anything plugged into your RV outlets, it’s a drop in the bucket. I urge you to check out the youtube videos available if you are in the market for such a device.

Surge protector does appear to workI do like the ability to check the quality of power coming into my RV. I wish that the Bluetooth signal was stronger. It was a challenge to get the external separate purchase wireless display device connected. It would have been nice to have an app one could use on a cell phone to monitor the surge protector.

Better than my last oneI replaced an old Progressive protected. This one checks the status a lot quicker and allows for templates voltage drops as long they don’t extend for a long period. Very happy with this one.

So Far Sooo Good!!!I’ve been using this for a few months now… it’s a bit pricey but securing the electric on the RV is CAPITAL… and I have absolutely no worries with this plugged in!!!
