Description
This triple monitor USB 3.0 laptop docking station turns your USB 3.0/3.1 laptop into a full workstation with two DisplayPort outputs and an HDMI output. Unlike some proprietary docks that only work with specific laptop brands, this dock is universal, working with your Windows or Mac computer with USB 3.0. Triple Display Flexibility This USB 3.0 port replicator adds triple monitor support to your workstation, with resolutions up to 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160p) on one display and 2048×1152 on the other two. With more screens combined with high resolution, the dock maximizes your screen real estate so you can simultaneously access multiple applications and compose on one display while referencing material on the other. You can also use your laptop screen, for four displays in total, making it easy to manage several programs at once and avoid the nuisance of minimizing or rearranging windows. Powerful Connections and Fast Device Charging To support all your USB peripherals, this USB 3.0 laptop docking station provides five USB 3.0 ports. The side-facing USB port is a USB fast-charge port (USB Battery Charging Specification 1.2), so you can charge your mobile devices faster than from standard USB ports, with or without your laptop connected. The dock has a GbE port, headset jack and separate 3.5 mm audio and mic ports, so you get all the connections you need in one place. It also supports UASP, helping to enhance the performance and quicken the read/write speeds to and from your device(s). This TAA compliant multiport docking station is backed by a 3-year warranty and free lifetime technical support. Operating Temperature : 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F).

This one works! This filled my need for a USB 3 docking station that would drive 2 monitors with my computer image across 2 screens. The DP supports my 2560×1440 display through a StarTech 4-port USB DP KVM Switch and an HD display through a separate HDMI KVM switch. Now, I have up to 4 PCs driving a dual-monitor set-up. Everyone comes into my office and asks how many computers I have :)This docking station is a level above most others, especially in this price range. It has all the ports I need, and lots of USB 3s, not a bunch of USB 2s like you get with others.I tried a sexy USB-C model from another source, but my laptop’s port just was not up to the task. And, only 1 of my laptops even has USB-C, so it really was not as flexible as I needed. In a couple years, I hope all PCs use the same level of USB-C, but as of today, most do not support data, video and especially power all together. This USB 3 model works with all my laptops and I’m not really missing out on bandwidth. I just have to plug my laptop into the USB 3 dock and a power source, then I’m up and running.Last bit of general advice – if you’re like me and you buy lots of stuff on Amazon, especially Electronics, then you must use FakeSpot to root out all of the fake reviews that some of the sellers use. 4 or 5 stars just doesn’t mean the same thing if it’s coming from fake review(ers).

Avoid if possibleDocking station caused my Dell laptop several issues, such as slow response times when minimizing / maximizing browsers, cursor consistently blinking / flashing, CPU usage over 20% and Display Link constantly needing to be reinstalled. Contacted there tech support team and they did not have a solution as to why this is happening. We replaced the docking station and the same issues occur. All issues goes away once I disconnect from the docking station. My laptop is new, 32 gigs of Mem, Radeon GPU, and a i7 Core Processor. I don’t think this product plays well with Dell.

Awful, Ended Up Having Better Luck With a Cheaper OptionI have been using this docking station for over a year now. It has been nothing but issues for me, unfortunately. First, you CANNOT change all of your monitor refresh rates when using this docking station. The refresh rate will be capped at 60 Hz and your OS will not allow you to change it to anything higher (if you have a monitor that is > 60 Hz refresh rate). Second, it only works about 50% of the time. I often have to unplug and plug the dock back in to get all of my monitors and peripherals to work. This can end up taking over 20+ times of unplugging and plugging back in every time I want to use it. Third, the display link software is horrible, some applications (namely games) will not recognize your monitors because they are display link devices. Fourth, you will notice considerable input lag, this is expected because you are not directly connecting your input devices directly to your laptop, however, it can be extremely annoying to have to deal with it everyday. I feel like I have used this device long enough to write an honest review on it. I would not recommend this product, it will give you constant problems. I have since went with a different option and all of my problems have been fixed. I would recommend doing the same a look elsewhere.

Works well with Macs, just a few caveatsUsing this with a Mac. Bought this to replace a similar Startech dock that I was using before (but have to return to my workplace since I got a new job).I didn’t realize this version of that dock didn’t have any USB-C/Thunderbolt ports, which worried me at first because of course that’s all my Mac has. You will have to use an adapter to plug this in if you have a Mac, so be aware of that. But once I pulled out my adapter and plugged the USB cable into my computer using that, I was delighted to see that almost everything works. The only thing that doesn’t appear to work for me is laptop charging, and I’m guessing that’s because I have to use an adapter to plug in this docking station. So I have to use my laptop charger to charge my laptop, but that’s okay for me since I’m using a power strip at my desk anyway.I had to install drivers to get the other dock that I’m replacing to work, but since I had that same driver on my computer this time around, it was literally just plug and play for me. If you’re using a Startech dock for the first time with a Mac, then a driver may be required. Something called ‘DisplayLink Manager’.Overall I would recommend this dock for use with a Mac, unless it’s particularly inconvenient for you to have to use your laptop charger to charge. I’ve been using a slightly different version of this dock for years with my work computer, and I have never had any issues with it. I liked it enough to spend the money to get one for myself, after all, so I guess that’s saying something.EDIT: Tried using this dock with my new Windows work PC as well, and it doesn’t charge that either, so it looks like laptop charging being missing is a feature and not a bug. I’ve switched to using my work provided docking station since it does charge both laptops for me, and am keeping this one as a backup in case I find myself without a dock again.

Looks great, has all the connections I needed, but doesnt last the test of time….Ive purchased two of these now, first about 6 years ago, it was all good until eventually it just died of death and couldnt get anything from it, no display, keyboard or anything attached to it, so because warranty expired, got a new one, again all good up until now, one of my monitors its flickering on and off, thought it was my monitor, but connected directly to a laptop, all good no flickers at all, so seems again docking station is at fault, the middle hdmi port appears to be at fault.Considering the cost, you would expect this to be quality, but seems to be an issue, I have a very unique setup, 3 hp monitors 2 display port and 1 dvi, so this dock has 2 DP and the middle is hdmi, so I have hdmi connected to dvi and the the 2 DP to DP on the other monitors. Everything has been fine at first then now I have an issue with the hdmi port flickering on and off every few minutes. I have checked everything, cables, power, drivers etc… as I said connected directly to the monitor in question via the same cable, stable and no issue, as soon as I connect the hub back into the usb on my pc, the middle monitor hdmi starts to flicker again.

Great Piece of EquipmentWorks very well for 3 monitors. It works perfectly with windows to allow easy setup and individual control of each screen. Also allows audio on earphones and has a USB port that can be used for charging. There is it’s own on/off switch which is convenient to switch off all screen inputs in one go. The price is reasonable because it is a good solution for 3 monitors.

Seemed GoodThe product was very easy to use and worked well for around 15 months. It then became ‘hot’ and then died. Somehow it caused my mouse and keyboard to ‘die’ at the same time. Maybe some over voltage or current surge??It has a 2 year warranty and Amazon customer support was excellent, refunding in full. It’s a shame, the product seems to perform well but is unreliable.

Just Excellent! Just worksJust Excellent! Just works…no fuss no muss…just works! Reason for star is because of the power cable length from unit to the is too short! Had to buy a new longer one from them. Apart from that it is perfect!

Good but doesn’t work with my iiyama monitors. It works well BUT despite a lot of technical support from StarTech they just could not get it work with my to iiyama monitors. Which means I have to connect the monitors directly to the laptop and not via the docking station which kind of negates some of the benefits of having a docking station in the first place.
