Very satisfiedI replaced my old mechanical clock with this system. Compared to the old mechanical time clock, this feels very light weight and cheap. I guess I’m just used to the old – heavy clunker clock. It works really well and I love the fact it keeps track of the hours. The biggest hurdle I have to overcome is conditioning my employee’s to clock in and out every time – every day. Failure to do so just renders the time total feature useless. So far I love the clock but am very disappointed with the bell system.

Easy to use- Make sure you have the right time card revision numberI’ll come back in a couple of weeks and update my review since we just received it this morning (1/4/19). I found it pretty easy to set up. Had one issue where I was trying to run a demo card and kept getting the “try again” error…. I had forgotten to remove the cardboard inside the time clock that covers the ribbon. Ha! So it seems to work as described with the exception of user error. It is a little louder then our older time clock but it feeds the cards through quickly and smoothly. I have seen a few reviews complaining about issues with the package of time cards that come with it. They have stated they received the wrong ones which causes the time clock to print over top of punches. Per the manual you must use time card #44100-10 with Rev. I or higher. Some people are reading that as a number but in fact it is the letter i. The package I received was Rev. O as in Oscar and they work fine. This was a replacement clock for a much older (non-calculating) time clock. If this one works well over the next couple of weeks, I plan on replacing our 2 other time clocks with this model as it will save me quite a bit of time doing payroll.

Unfavorable First ImpressionWe purchased this time clock for our small business. During the first week of use, the clock stopped accepting time cards. The message “try again” appeared on the screen. I looked in the manual and tried all the trouble shooting steps, although there were none specifically for the message “try again.” I was able to get the machine to accept a new card after I had tried every trouble shooting step, including making sure the ribbon was clicked into place. At that point I thought the issue was resolved. Unfortunately, it isn’t. Mid way through our new pay period, the machine has again stopped accepting cards. Although it will take a card that hasn’t been used at all, it won’t accept any that have been used for even one or two days. This morning I contacted Pyramid and talked to a service provider. She told me that they have found that some of the time cards are too wide, and that they have had to sort and repackage them. Pyramid is sending me a new package of cards to try. I should receive them in 4-5 business days. So far, this machine is costing us a lot of time and frustration. If the cards do resolve the issue, or Pyramid is indeed able to give us a machine that works, I will revise my review.Addendum:After another two week wait, and no time cards, I again called Pyramid. The person I talked to said that it wasn’t a time card issue, and that the 4000 was being “phased out.” I was instructed to send my 4000 back to Pyramid, and it would be replaced with a 5000 at no extra cost. I sent the 4000 back (at my expense) but it was replaced by another 4000. After more phone calls and email messages, the 4000 was finally replaced with a 5000. So far, the 5000 is working…

DOES THE JOBThis is my second Pyramid time clock. The first one worked well, with no problems, for 10 years, which is why I bought another Pyramid. This new Pyramid has a large, bright blue LCD display and can be easily set up for various pay period intervals: weekly, bi-weekly, monthly etc. I like the fact that it can be set up for bi-weekly payroll in such a way that it enables each employee to utilize only one card every two weeks, instead of two, which saves me money on time cards. In this mode, although the print is smaller, it also prints a running total of the employee’s hours worked on the card, after each out-punch, which my employees and I both appreciate. It saves me the time and effort of totaling up multiple time cards per employee, for each pay period, and it reduces the chance of totaling errors. My only complaint is that it has a much noisier mechanism than my first Pyramid time clock. The old Pyramid was smooth sounding. This new one sounds a bit like a WWII tank track, squeaky and grinding, during each punch, but we’re getting used to it. However, if I had known it was going to be so noisy, I might have shopped for another brand, but when we shop online, it’s difficult to factor in the sound.

Has helped streamline our payrollIt began having printing problems after using for one year. I believe it was a combination of time cards being jammed in rather than letting the machine do the work, wear of use & it was in a shop environment. However, I liked it well enough to order the same machine for replacement.

Great product! This time clock is easy to use, set up, and change times. I would recommend and purchase again. My order came with an extra ribbon, but the extra ribbon that came with it does not fit for the 4000 Pro. (Ribbon is 4000-R) It is good information to know to save you some time when the ribbon is due for a change, although no need to necessarily stock up on extra ribbon. I purchased my time clock in 2015 and am just now needing to change the ribbon. (3+ years and ~200 punches per week, not bad!)

Business Necessity! This was a great replacement for my business. The setup takes no time at all, the instructions were direct and easy to follow, and it is very reliable. Auditors LOVE having the ability to review a dual system, so this was the perfect tool to keep payroll on track. The time is easily tracked and totaled each pay period.

Just What We NeededI would definitely recommend this handy device to any small business looking for a great in-expensive calculating time clock for their employees. This item arrived on time no damage to the package box. Very easy to program and install and extremely user friendly. Just drop the time sheet in slot and the actual machine pull it through and prints out arrival/departure times along with the daily hours calculated so worker is able to see how long they worked. Totally love this , it save time when it comes to adding up & reporting pay roll.
