Bigger question is whether you need it?So it was myself first time trying a widescreen, will say it’s a different experience. There is no major problem with monitor except that it is an outdated design, not sleek by any standards and does not have height adjustment which could be a big dealbreaker nowadays with work from home. The resolution is not directly supported by older macs so you may need to download a free to try and $14 to buy app. Also you may need to download another cheap app which resizes windows easily. With all that done too i was finding it hard to justify the use, maximized windows on a productivity app would need me to move my head from one side to the other. The highest resolution makes fonts too small to read from a distance and if you keep it near you will have to move your head each time. Some videos and games made for this ratio look great, m sure it would be great for creating video-content as well, but I couldn’t say the same for writing and reading apps. Finally may be you’d be better off with a 24′ or 27″ normal screen than this unusual size as in effect it doesn’t add much. For real meaningful wide screen you may prefer bigger sizes else this size may just feel like a hassle IMHO. Again, the monitor by itself is not too bad but the bigger question is whether you actually need or gain anything by taking this size, or in fact you are losing something actually.

Great monitor for Multitasking but not for Gaming!I bought this monitor for my work purpose and it served its purpose from day one. the wide screen ratio makes it easier for me to work on various projects at the same time as I can do multitasking easily and don’t have to close any tabs, instead I keep open all my tabs at the same time. The colour saturation and brightness is good enough to work at night and doesn’t hurt the eye.- For gaming, I tried PS4 plugged in it and it was horrible as PS4 does not support (2560*1080) so all the games are stretched out, as a result it looked bad so I am not using this as my gaming monitor.

Monitor sits at horrible downward facing angleThe screen and functionality of this monitor is amazing, which makes its poor design that much more disappointing. The monitor screen points down at a 20-30 degree angle which makes viewing painful and distorted. Currently deciding whether to buy an adjustable stand (as you can see I tried to make one w textbooks and a note pad as a wedge) for $40 or return this. So disappointing for an otherwise perfect electronic

Huge Upgrade for My Home OfficeI was used to using two monitors at the office, but now that I am working 100% remotely from home I needed to upgrade from just a laptop to something that would allow me to be more productive. My wife was insistent that she didn’t like the aesthetics of a dual-monitor approach, so we landed on this as a compromise. It is very easy for me to put two spreadsheets or presentations side-by-side to enhance productivity, and this monitor allows me to do everything I was accustomed to doing at the office. This was a great compromise, and one that I can heartily recommend to anyone who is looking to upgrade their home workstation.

great monitor for schoolwork and casual gamingI bought this monitor after trying it out on my brothers gaming PC, and while I can’t tell you whether it would be good or bad for gaming, I can say it’s awesome for doing multitasking— specifically for college. I hook this monitor up to my MacBook with a usb-c to hdmi adapter that also has an extra power slot on it too.It works very well for having multiple documents up for writing papers, discussion boards, notes, zoom, etc. I honestly have a hard time using my laptop for schoolwork without it now, as it’s just very difficult to navigate without the added space the monitor gives me.There’s a review saying the monitor sits at a terrible downward angle, this person probably doesn’t understand that the screen can be tilted. When it first comes out of the box, it is packaged and automatically at a very sharp downward angle fresh out of the box. Do not panic, just tilt the screen upwards as it is meant to be adjustable.Due to the nature of widescreens, any video platform will not fill the screen up. This monitor is meant to be used as a dual monitor, it’s not made for theatrics. Many games I play do fill out the screen and give you that extra viewing angle (like stardew valley or minecraft,) and it looks extremely clean and amazing. Also just to note, I haven’t really bothered finding the driver that helps resize windows automatically. With a MacBook, you have to manually resize every window and you can’t clip the window to the size and have it automatically resize like a windows user can. I believe there is a free driver on the LG website, it just doesn’t bug me enough to find it.This also means my Macbook has to be placed to the left of the monitor in order for me to use the MacBook screen as a “second monitor.” If it is not placed to the left, I still have to drag and windows from my MacBook as if the laptop was on my left side. Just a note to keep in mind.

Love it.Works great with my 2019 MacBook Pro. No, it wasn’t have Retina display, and if you are an illustrator I wouldn’t recommend. I just needed something to do basic programming, and it looks great!

Tilt is adjustable. Monitor is good.I feel bad for the person who got so upset about the downward tilt. The monitor is made such that the tilt can be adjusted very easily and holds in place with no issues.I bought the 29” model, and I love the extra real estate. I am a software engineer, and test-driven development is a key component of my team’s work process. Having additional space for coded tests, implementation, email, development tools and web browsing is a definite plus.I work on a Mac, and the Mac’s display is noticeably better than the LG, which is not surprising. That said, the build and visual quality are very good.I docked a star because I don’t think the screen splitting videos in the description apply to the 29” version. The controls are quite a bit more basic. However, if you are savvy at all with these kinds of things, you can easily arrange your windows without the assistance of monitor software.
