Good soundMy speakers are mated to a Pioneer VSX-534 receiver using 14 gauge speaker wires. It is mounted approximately 7 feet apart and 8 feet up. It is easy to install but it doesn’t come with any hardware. The speakers are fine tuned and matched to the receiver. The sound quality ( bass and tweeter) is good and relatively clear. For the price, it’s decent. If I had to do it again, I would get a Bose or equivalent.

They’re Klipsch! What more needs to be said?I was on the fence about which patio speakers to get. I debated for weeks between these Klipsch KIO-650 speakers and two other pair that were cheaper and had more reviews. But since I have Klipsch bookshelf speakers in my home office, I decided to get these and my wife and I are so glad that I did!I’ve never been one to believe that speakers need “broken in” but I have to say that after a week of using these at least 3 hours a day at a decent volume level they are sounding better than when I first installed them! I have a Fosi DA2120C amplifier (great amp, btw!!) pushing them and they get plenty loud enough for our patio that’s roughly 650 square feet.I installed them about 8 feet high and I angled them down slightly to direct the sound towards the listening area rather than the entire back yard. They have have a fantastic clear sound, and I’m noticing details in music that I’ve never heard before on songs that I’ve listened to for 20+ years! My wife, who doesn’t usually notice details in sound, commented on how clear they are! As for bass, if you’re going to listen to bass-heavy music or want to rattle the neighbor’s windows, these aren’t for you. But they produce the perfect amount of bottom end to round out the sound and bring attention to the instruments, especially the bass guitar. Something I noticed is that if I sit directly in front of them in the “stereo sweet spot” the bass almost disappears, but if I move anywhere else, the bottom end is more than sufficient! They are white and blend in perfectly with our patio to the point that guests have to look to see where the music is coming from. They include the mounting bracket but do not include any screws to mount them with. The binding posts on the back accept 14-gauge wire fairly easily but I think 12-gauge might be a challenge.Overall, my wife and I really enjoy the sound that these speakers produce! She even commented that we should get a second pair “you know, for surround sound out here”. Don’t tempt me!
