Good if you caught it at $289.99 USD or lessThis is a nice chip to get for under $300 if it ever goes on sale again. I was originally trying to get a 5600x but they were just too hard to get. With an NH-D15s it idles at about 30 °C and gets up to ~65 °C in games (room is about 24 °C). YMMV depending on your case, your installation skill, and your local weather.

Damb, this thing is FAST!I build my own systems, and have now for about 20 years. If you haven’t yet, and are about to, welcome aboard what will be a very satisfying hobby/job. The last two were Intel builds, my previous being an i7 4790. Yeah, seven years ago. I had some money, and a wife who agreed the upgrade was necessary, and off we went. So good to meet the UPS man at the door, or in the front yard for several days in a row. Neighbors were jealous. It was just as much as a blink of yer eye’s worth of effort to install this CPU. It really felt weighty and substantial in the figglers. The build went off without a hitch, and she’s running now. Before, the Bluestacks launch would take about 30 seconds to load. Now???? It’s done in about 5.8 seconds! That’s fast! I see the differences in speed on several fronts, and it’s very nice to command. Thank you, Intel, for another winner in the CPU dept.

Finally upgraded from i5-2500K @ 4.2GHzReplacing a legend is always bittersweet, but, the Prime day 2021 deal on i7-10700KF was enough to push me onward. Getting a decade of solid performance from i5-2500K @ 4.2GHz is amazingly cost effective. I’ve always had zero issues with any Intel cpu I’ve used (and also the AMD one’s I’ve used in the past). The 10700KF fired right up with one of those ginormous Noctua sinks. Great thermals and performance. Not overclocking and not sure I need to. But may tinker a bit down the road. Nice to have that option if necessary. Looking to get another decade down the road ….

Great upgrade from my 4690k. Great price (caught it at $260)This thing is a beast, runs any game or program or both at the same time. It does run a little hot but with a decent AIO or Air Cooler, it should be fine. I’m not sure if it’s better than the 5600x for gaming but I do a LOT more with my PC as a Youtube content creator, programmer, and avid CAD program user. I can say this thing eats everything I throw at it. The main difference for me was the price. I at the time of my purchase the 10700KF was $260, the 5600x was $399, Kind of a no-brainer. Can’t say enough about this CPU. 10/10.

First time around was completely scammed, second time went better. The first time I ordered this product, they sent me a plain brown box with a pack of bite size Twizzlers in it. was not too happy with that but amazon got it sorted out and I got a replacement. The second time around I got it, it was in a proper box with padding, which I highly appreciate. From what I could see it worked pretty well. Never opened and it was as advertised. The motherboard I was sent had broken CPU pins, so I had to return both because I gave up on building my own PC and got a prebuilt instead.

Just finished new build. Win11, 4 second load up.New computer build. Full Tower case. This Motherboard and Processor was just right for what I wanted to build. Gaming Board with I7 400 series 1200 pin socket. You just can’t bogg it down, with multi-tasking. I don’t Game, but I did put a decent 2 port video card in it.As this CPU does NOT have the Intel HD graphics. I7 / 490 MB all that was needed to be Win 11 ready was turn on the Intel PPL in the bios.Only disappointment with he whole build was there was only “1” USB 3 header. I generally put a 7 USB bank on the front panel and a 7 bank of USB on the back (PCI16 card). Used 650 Watt PS

So far so good.Leaving out all of the typical troubleshooting you would normally do with a custom build, the only real problem I had was windows selecting a balanced power profile automatically on startup after I got everything put together and running. The balanced power profile was causing the 10700kf to perform sporadically in my recording software (Studio One 5 Pro) and led to power throttling in the Intel extreme tuning utility. Deleting the balanced profile so that windows was forced to use high performance or extreme performance seemed to fix the issue. So far I haven’t been able to overload the cpu in any applications. Overclocked to a solid 5.0ghz. Very happy with the performance I get out of this cpu.

Dented boxBox came dented! $300 and I get a box that was clearly dropped!

Amazing value for money right nowAt the time of writing this review I picked this up for 280CAD. Given that the other AMD ones were at least twice the cost, I got this one specifically cause I game and have an RTX 3070. For the cost of 500$ I got a motherboard and CPU to upgrade from my old 6700k. That’s still less than JUST the AMD CPU’s in the same category. This works well for gaming and for video editing even. Theres a lot of hype around AMD, and yes, they are better. But probably not better enough to warrant spending 3x the cost in my opinion. You still get 8 cores, 16 threads and it’s cheap for an i7. If you’re going for budget, grab one of these, you won’t be disappointed
