So far so goodFor a few years I have been using a ZeeVee but it failed and I was reticent to buy another one considering the cost and the fact that it only lasted less than three years. For a while we did without, and some of our TVs couldn’t receive the satellite signal we were transmitting throughout the entire house with the ZeeVee.After seeing reviews of this product I figured I would give it a try because it’s maybe 35% the cost of the ZeeVee. So far so good.Being able to use the controls in the front to set the channel makes it pretty easy. It doesn’t have a fancy display like the ZeeVee and can’t broadcast a second “welcome screen” channel like mire expensive products, but for home use, who cares?I haven’t been able to use the web interface yet because I haven’t figured out how to get to the IP address to work but I haven’t really tried very hard. Once I do I will see what settings are available. The manual is very sparse. So far the picture has been rock solid and the sound has been good and I haven’t had any problems with the signal dropping or freezing and haven’t had to reset been reset. Hopefully this product will last as long as the ZeeVee did or even longer. Considering it’s on 24/7 I know that overheating could be a problem with some of these products (and I suspect that’s why the ZeeVee would occasionally freeze) so hopefully the internal components are strong enough to take the constant strain over time. The delay is about a second, similar to the ZeeVee, compared to direct HDMI output.

Does what it says it willWorks great. Using it to broadcast my security cameras to tvs in the house over coax.Setup was super simple. Basically plugged in the hdmi cable from my NVR and the cable source and outflow it worked. Very expensive is my only complaint.

Excellent performerThis has performed very well. Got it to replace a PVI VeCOAX MiniMod2 when I couldn’t stand the audio distortion any more. Side benefit, this seems to have better picture quality than the PVI even at its highest quality setting. Considering replacing my other MiniMod2 (but these things are expensive).Setup is not as hard as some report once you figure out how to connect it to your PC or network. Once connected setup was easy and clear, and quite flexible.

Great value and High Quality video, some difficulty in set upPro’s:- Pass-through HDMI let’s you intercept the HDMI for RF modulation, while still driving a TV- RF In and Out let’s you combine the modulated video signal with your antenna input or other RF sources- Great Price. At under $300, you get a lot of functionality.- Great Video. Both the HDMI pass-through and the HD RF modulated output are flawless- Great Support: There is a tech support number provided in the box. You may very well need it!Con’s- The web-based setup requires adjusting your PC’s network settings. I called the provided tech support # to get an additional document that made it all easy. This info should be provided in the box, but it is not.- Front Panel controls and settings are very poorly documented. I’ll call tech support tomorrow to see if they have a better description. I did not use ANY front panel settings. I used the web interface 100%

you will need to understand how to use network IP4 addressingthe device itself is good. the manual is limited and assumes the user has a bit of knowledge about IP networking. i bought the Petit modulator to replace Vecoax modulators because the Vecoax modulators exhibited subtle audio distortion, as noted by other users. this product, Petit modulator, provides good video and audio quality and is not hard to setup, except for the networking issue. i plan on buying a second Petit modulator to replace my other Vecoax modulator.

Good but priceyI have this 4 stars because I still feel this is too much money for what we received. But, it was the cheapest unit I could find to accomplish our task. I use this to simulcast across our building. It has worked as expected. Too new to have any issues yet.

Good Modulator. Great support. This modulator did exactly what I needed. It allowed me to inject a streamed Television source onto my QAM CATV cable network. I had a couple of questions that the support team was able to answer. I may upgrade to the 8 channel unit in the future. I can highly recommend both this product and this company.

No thunder from this ThorI had great hopes for this unit to replace an analog channel modulator, but my unit arrived with multiple issues. You need a computer with a web browser to configure the unit. There is an online 6-page instruction book to explain the process of connecting to the device with an Ethernet cable (not included). When you are able to connect to the device, the interface is easy to use and works well. But until I was connected, I found the buttons on the front of the unit to be pretty much useless–but, this could have been because of other problems with my unit. My unit would reboot itself every few minutes. Also, although it would pass through RF from my antenna, it produced no RF output–I verified this with an RF Analyzer. So, because of poor documentation, complexity of connecting a PC to the unit, inability to configure the unit with the buttons on the front [this might be unique to my unit], rebooting issues, and dead RF output, I do not recommend this unit. The good news is that Amazon has a great return process–thank you, Amazon!

Best Digital Modulator and customer serviceGreat product but equally as great…A+ Customer service. I purchased a similar modulator from provideoinstruments to compare, it failed miserably. Here’s your best proof, Thor takes returns…provideoinstruments doesn’t! What does that tell you?
