Huge upgrade over V860III’m very familiar with off camera flash and specifically godox. I’ve had my godox speedlites (v860ii’s) for a couple of years and I love them. What I don’t like is the menu for them, specifically at weddings.I know I know, natural light photographers are thinking “but Steve I dont use flash its not my style!” While that’s great, but for me personally, I want a nice looking image without going up to ISO 6400-12800 in a reception venue. I routinely use 2 lights off camera during reception time, and the menu for controlling lights off camera with the v860ii is really a pain. I feel like i gotta hit the same button 6 times to get to the same menu. The next time i have to hit it 3 times.I couldn’t justify spending $230 on a speedlite until I tried the godox v860iii. I know the roundhead v1 is more expensive. I couldn’t justify that either. I also wasn’t a fan of the roundhead. So the v860iii takes what’s great about the v1 and puts it into a v860ii body.-Much better interface-Modeling light-TTL function for newer cameras(if that appeals to you-USB C chargingIn closing, I’d like to say I’ll be replacing all of my lights with godox v860iii’s simply because of the interface when used at weddings.Hope this helps someone! Here’s some sample images I’ve taken with the v860ii. The actual light pattern is no different than the v860ii, it’s just a much more complete solution.

would not work with canon M6 MarkiiI purchased 2 V860III-C Flashes along with the EX Pro transmitter and I could not get either the flash ( on Camera) or the transmitter to communicate with my Canon M6 Markii to work. The transmitter and the flashes communicated together but not with my camera.I purchased the Godex system because I liked the idea of the rechargeable battery and the price point – the quality seemed fine – however Godox did not have any customer support available. I called Canon and was able to connect with a live person within minutes who spoke perfect English and was happy to help me – he went through all of my camera settings and confirmed that everything was correct on my end that it was in fact a problem with the 3rd party equipment.I returned all of the Godex equipment and am now purchasing Canon – Canon may be more expensive but at least they have fantastic customer support ,

Works as great as the Canon FlashI broke my $700 Canon flash. Ouch. I needed something for a small photo shoot and as a recent guest at a wedding I saw the photographer using this one . I asked him about using a third party flash on a Canon and he said it worked great . I took a chance and bought it and compared all the specs to the canon model I had They were exact but this one was about 1/3 the price. Plenty of power and actually was easier to use in manual mode than my Canon flash. I’m very happy with it.

Ideal for event photographySo glad I upgraded to the rechargeable battery in the godox speed light. This thing lasted an entire wedding and I still had 1/3 battery power left. I also used it as my “trigger” for my two ad200 system. The interface is easy and I had very few misfires. If you haven’t moved over to the goods syatem do so.

Love It!So far, I love this flash! I was debating between this lens and a canon – the selling point was the re-chargeable battery. I have used the flash several times and so far so good. I would recommend.

Solid addition to your gearThe media could not be loaded.
Gotta love Godox.. they’ve taken over the world recently, and this latest version of the V860 on-camera flash is no exception. It’s got every bell and whistle, build quality matches or surpasses its’ competitors, and it should last for years. Supports TTL, and gives 480 Full Power flashes on one battery charge. They haven’t left anything out on this superb flash.

Even better than the version 2. I love it!.I have been doing wedding photography for about 10 years now and have used many different types of flashes. My favorite was the V860ii for the past several years. However, I decided I wanted out a few more speed lights to my kit so I decided to try this version 3 solely because it was the newer model.Upon receiving the new speed light I realized the build quality seems to be a little bit better than the previous version and the physical quick release for the hot shoe is so much better and makes it so much easier to put the flash on and off the hot shoe. The menus are also significantly improved and makes it a lot easier to use this as a trigger on my camera, the trigger all the other flashes that are off camera. I very often use off camera flash so this is a huge improvement for me. The blue colored backlight also makes it a lot easier to read in the dark as well as when it’s not super dark if I’m using it for fill flash during the day.My most favorite improvement is the addition of the physical switch to change from TTL to manual mode. This used to be a pain with my old flash having to go through the menus and switch it now. I can do it at the flip of a switch on the fly which has helped me capture shots that I would before miss. This is a huge feature that I don’t feel has been acknowledged enough in the reviews that I read before purchasing this. Some of the other cool features would be the updated battery which now is the same as my V1 flash which means I can now carry just one type of battery instead of two different kinds. The LED light is also a pretty cool feature, especially being that it is always on the front of the camera rather than on the flash head. I like this because I can use it as a focus assist light while shooting and dark environments while still being able to bounce my flash off of wall or ceiling.Overall, I am extremely happy with this flash so much so that I’m thinking about replacing all my version twos with this version. 3.
