Works great for architectural photographyI upgraded from a Godox 860. It seems a bit brighter. I like the locking hot shoe mount. It makes for a sturdier connection over the Godox 860 screw tight mount. The menues are intuitive and I didn’t need a manual to adapt from the previous model.

There’s a lot to like about the new Godox V1 speedlight. I purchased the Sony version.The round head is the obvious new feature. Which can come in handy if you are using the flash off camera. For on camera use though, it’s not a big deal.It is compatible with th AK-R1 accessory pack which is great. This replaces the need for Magmod accessories.The interface has been redesigned. On balance it’s improved but I wish that Godox would introduce a way to change power by 1/3 increments instead of either full stops or 0.1 stops.The LED light is quite useful if you need a little tickle of light. It won’t be replacing your LED panels but at a pinch it is useful to have.The wireless scanning feature lets you use the strongest signal to minimise misfires.Overall it continues to show that Godox are happy to keep improving their products.I feel this is a great speedlight for someone switching from OEM units and wish to invest into the Godox ecosystem.If you already have v860ii and magmod accessories then I wouldn’t necessarily ditch them and rush out to upgrade.

A solid modern flashI’ve been using the V1 for a few weeks now, and although it’s a fantastic flash, and has great features, it doesn’t have the bargain pricing of previous Godox flash models.New features include the magnetic round head, which also tilts back as well as forward, a slightly updated and easier to use user interface, and a slightly stronger hot shoe on the Sony model.But all that being said, this flash was designed to compete with the much more expensive Profoto A1 flash, and not their previous, and very popular V860ii flash, which still offers many of the same features, for less money. So if you want the best flash Godox has to offer (and arguably one of the best on camera flashes available) go for the V1. But if you want to save a little money, go with the V860ii, and you won’t be disappointed.

Amazing productFirst off, this seller is amazing. This product is not even out yet for another week or so. I received it in a quick timely manner as soon as I placed my order. Right out of the box, the battery has some charge on it and I was able to take it out for some sample shots. It performed well above my expectations. The round head feature is definitely going to be the selling point of this flash because of the way it distributes light evenly. Overall, its a very solid unit and I could honestly say that this is the best flash I have ever owned. Definitely worth the money.

My Favorite flash, I ordered another oneGotta give it all to this godox V1. It’s a great flash both off camera and on camera. I know I gave it 5stars but there’s one thing I wish it has. I wish it had a bounce on the flash head, so you don’t need to add the magnetic accessory, because they fall off
