Flash Not Firing issues after a year and a half of heavy usage. Warranty Replacement Update!I use the flash almost everyday for Real Estate Photography and it’s also been used for an event I photographed.PRO: Fast recycle time even at 100% flash. Solid battery life. Flash spreads out pretty even. Works great with the Godox X1 remote trigger system. Competent menu system. Overall decent build quality.CON: Out of the box this flash had a syncing issue with Canon cameras, unfortunately I wasn’t aware of this until after reviewing my pictures of the event I photographed. The syncing issue was resolved after a firmware update. The firmware update process is not straight forward process, but it’s not the flash’s fault. The access panel that covers the micro-usb is thin and flimsy and I’m not a fan of the build quality of the menu wheel.Bottom Line, this is a fantastic flash for the price. I don’t think this flash can take the beating my trusty Canon 580ex took over the years but the V1 is a welcomed tool in my bag.UPDATE: As of February 2021 (1.5 years of heavy usage) the flash only sometimes works. Whether it’s on the camera, wireless triggered or even if you press the “test flash” button, the flash fires about 60% of the time. It’s still under warranty (2 years per Godox) and I have reached out to the reseller Pergear for a warranty inquiry. Once I get a response I’ll update this review. I’ve really enjoyed using this flash up until now.UPDATE PART II: As of Late February 2021, I reached out to the seller Pergear regarding the warranty. They promptly responded and shipped a replacement. Communication was great and now I have a new flash that works flawlessly.

Great flash unit.I bought this to replace one of my aging Godox TT685 units, and there are a lot of improvements to this flash compared to previous models in the lineup. The round flash head creates a more even light dispersion, with a softer, more natural falloff towards the edges versus a conventional fresnel head. The locking lever on the hot shoe is a welcome addition to their lineup, the spinning thumb wheel left much to be desired in previous strobes. The fact that it has a lithium battery pack means you get more flashes per charge compared to AA batteries, as well a faster recycle time, so less waiting in between shots. I also like the fact that the battery charger is connected via USB-C, which makes for fast recharging, and I can also use it connected to my USB power brick, compared to most chargers taking up a space on my surge protector. All in all, a great flash, and a complete bargain compared to the similarly shaped Profoto unit. MY ONE NITPICK is that the flash is only adjustable in 1/10th stop increments compared to the normal 1/3rd stop increments most of us are used to in manual mode. I have yet to discover a button or setting that can change this, and if it is possible to change it please let me know.

It Does It All for a Great Price.I am all in on the Godox/Flashpoint family. I have everything from the cheapest speedlites to the 1200 watt pro pack.Pros: It is very easy to use. You can use it as a master and control any other light in the family. This makes it especially good for event photography since you can control other lights on stands but also use it as a fill light. The dome on top does a great job at diffusing the light for such a small source. I love that is has rear curtain sync as I use that function a lot for low light events. The battery keeps up under heavy usage as well. I absolutely love the 10 point control between stops and the ability to bounce an entire stop at a time as well. And oh yeah. it has a model lamp… A MODEL LAMP! On a speedlite???? How awesome!Cons: Sometimes when using the V1 to control other lights, the V1 itself won’t change power (it uses group A for its own control). Sometimes I will drop it all the way to 1/128th power, but it will still have the output of what is was previously, say like 1/1 power.

The last flash you’ll ever buy.I have to give this flash a solid 5 stars across the board now let me explain why. Being I’m still recovering in a wheelchair not able to go out and shoot with but I still got alot of time in with. The battery life is real nice even shooting full power I took over 45 shots just of my dog an barely just got to a half. I love the spread of the light as well much more natural spread of the flash itself without any dark spots like a square headed speedlite I used to have. It’s very light weight and user friendly. The menu is very easy to find out. I did alot of research before getting a new flash. Because we all know we want the best for our money. I’m glad I did get this speedlite and also got the colored gels to mess with as well as the diffuser. An I love how its magnetic no more messing with a diffuser that is s held on by velcro always popping off or slipping. Thank you godox for make a amazing speedlite and pergear for getting it shipped fast with no issues.

Great flash – silly charging unitThis is a wonderful flash unit for the money. I had a kit stolen and had to replace everything. My new Canon 7D Mk II does not have a pop-up flash so without this unit I’d be sorely limited.This unit performs exceptionally well and is quick to refresh. I love the modeling light built-in, the fact that it offers built-in wireless communication with other flash units, and it supports a magnetically mounted set of flash diffusers which I bought and fell in love with too. So why not five stars? One reason and one reason only.The charging unit has a USB-C connector but you have to have a USB-A to USB-C cross-over cable. A standard USB-C cable and power source DOES NOT WORK. So, out of 9 million cables I now have one USB-A to USB-C cross-over to recharge my battery. I was without flash at a recent outdoor shoot (lucky it was outdoors and some sun). It didn’t occur to me to bring the cable since I have a USB-C cable and a supporting power pack. I’m guessing the charging base rejected the higher power source and clamped the circuit. Why couldn’t it just suck the power it needed off the USB-C connection. I’m not an EE so I have no clue.Standards GODOX. Respect them.

Made for Event ShootersMy biggest concern going in was the battery life, but so far it’s managed to last through every event I’ve shot (4-6 hours). As a diehard rechargeable AA battery user not having a spare battery was anxiety inducing, but overall the flash has been proving to be very reliable. If you’re a wedding shooter and stuck in a location with abysmal lighting for 8-12 hours, then yes, maybe invest in a spare battery or bring the charger, but for everyone else you’ll be fine.The built in wireless capabilities are also a nice touch. I’m pretty invested in the Godox ecosystem and this flash integrates well with my pre-existing triggers and studio strobes.I’d buy another one.

Best flash for the money even + 500Nothing comes close in the price range for on camera flash, its laughable how bad using the Canon flash is after using one of these. In events recycle time was a major killer but not with these.

連動しない。ターミナルが弱い。カメラに直付けでは問題なく使用できる。TTLケーブルを使用すると調光しない。ニッシンのレシーバーを使用すると、TTL調光しない、マニュアル出力調整も設定変更できない。使用して２ヵ月で足が割れました、材質が良くないのか？ソニーやニッシンのストロボも数年使用しているが、自分の使い方では壊れたことがありませんでした。
