Does everything I need it to do.Works like a charm.Connects to my ant3 mtb sensors for cadence, speed and heart rate.I have been able to go a full month without needing to charge it back up.

Smart and barely noticeable!Love this watch. Very no frills and super long battery life. Was looking for something I wouldn’t worry about having to take on and off for sleep and charging all the time. (Has like a one month battery life!)

Very cool watchI upgraded from a different Garmin to this one. I am very happy with it and the options it has. I like the fact I can track HIIT workouts. So far so good. I am still figuring everything out.I’m not sure the Solar aspect of it does enough to make it worth it however. Battery life has been pretty good. I get about 5 days out of a charge and that’s with 3-4 good workouts. I’m hoping more time outside in the sun during the summer will extend my battery life.

Switched from I-watch to thisOverall very pleased after having for a month.Had this watch for about a month now. Had been wearing an iwatch daily for about three years but decided to shift over to this Garmin instinct solar. I have not been disappointed at all. The watch basically has all the same features of the iwatch but in a different orientation. Love the solar functioning; you kind of need the solar power feature for it to be worth it. The battery life is averaging four days when fully charged and thats with all the dormant features running constantly. Features such as heart rate and sleep monitoring. Only gripe so far is using the watch as a walking monitor. Its just not super simple to set up quickly and get going, harder to turn it off than it should be.

This is nowhere close to being a true solar watch.Although this watch has many valuable features, it does not run anywhere close to completely on solar power, as do solar watches from other manfacturers such as Casio. When I called Garmin Tech Support, they said that the solar charging features of this watch are only capable of extending the roughly 12 day battery life by about 10% under ideal conditions, after being completely charged through a wall socket with the charging cable. Those ideal conditions to achieve that 10% improvement are when the watch is worn extensively outdoors in direct sunlight in short sleeved shirts. The solar charging capability of the watch under florescent lights is substantially less impressive (close to none). Garmin tech support attributed this watch’s poor solar charging performance to its features that other “solar watches” don’t have, such as GPS-based functions related to being a miliary parachute jump master. Those features are valuable as long as none of your missions take you to places where you’re away from a wall socket (where you can use the charging cable) for more than 7-10 days. I’m keeping the watch because of those features, but anyone else who buys it do so knowing that it does not run anywhere close to completely for extended periods on solar power. These limitations were not included in the advertising that I saw on the Amazon or Garmin websites before I bought the watch. I just expected more for the price.

Feature-packed and fun to use!The Garmin Instinct is a feature-packed watch with a huge assortment of menus that take a while to learn, but ultimately it’s a well-designed piece of tech that’s fun to use.I like how the screen and the features are very customizable. I like that various functions can be made easy to access via “hot keys.”It’s not inexpensive, so I do recommend getting some of those circular screen protectors that you’ll see advertised on Amazon along with the watch. I got a pack that had two screen protectors and a set of silicone plugs to cover the charging port on the back of the watch. If you don’t cover that port, you’re sure to accumulate gunk in there.I know that the watch is solar recharging, but I would like it if the watch face had an indicator of when it was receiving enough light to be charging. It does not. Also, it seems to charge slower than the drain on the battery from normal usage. That might be unavoidable. I know from experience with solar Casio watches that they charge very slowly. Perhaps if you need to charge your Instinct, it’s best to put it into battery saver mode first and leave it alone in a well-lit area.

Love the watchThe media could not be loaded.
The watch is wonderful with all it’s function but the earbuds are terrible and don’t actually work. I got them under the assumption that they are part of a Garmin package but they’re not. The earbuds are overpriced cheap useless quality. I’d get the watch only without any other additions.

Great fit wsa3tch, very durable and battery lasts about 23 daysGreat watch! Not sure how much differemce the solar charging makes but its a neat feature. I love being able to pay for things with my watch. I was worried about it being complicated to figure out but it has been pretty easy to figure out how to use all the functions and the user manual is helpful when you dont know how to do something.

Garmin watch exactly what I wanted.Been wanting one to replace my other Garmin workout watch. Love the design and function. Only slight issue as wrist band tends to cause slight rash if worn too long. Need to take it off for short periods of time to combat this.
