Description
The Approach S40 GPS golf smartwatch with color touchscreen looks great on your wrist and on the course. It shows distances to the front, middle and back of the green, hazards and automatically records detected shot distances (lie and ball contact may affect shot tracking). It also lets you manually adjust to today’s pin position for accurate approach shots. For even more precise automatic game tracking, pair with optional Approach CT10 club tracking sensors. Use with the Garmin Golf app for live scoring, automatic scorecard uploads and the ability to review all your stats in real time during play and after your round on your compatible smartphone. With the additional smartwatch features, you can wear it all day, and it can track your activities.

THIS GOLF TOOL SAVES ME STROKESThis is a good golf tool to use. It will save you strokes. My only problem is that it gets very clunky synching the golf round data from the watch to the Garmin app on my iPhone. A better instruction manual is recommended. When I was able to synch the golf round data I was surprised to learn my golf shots did not go as far as I thought they would

Best price for upper end golf watch.Looks great, easy to use and very accurate. Hasn’t improved my game – yet, but that’s no fault of this very nice golf tool.

Love this thing,… should have bought it years ago! This is my first golf watch (Garmin S40), and I am very happy with my purchase. I have been using it for about 4 months and it has been great. To start it looks stylish on or off the course, and if I go away for a golf weekend it is my only watch I take. Battery life is good, can get 2 rounds in with it but often charge it in between rounds cause it is so easy and quick to charge. When not on the course the battery life is great, probably a week or two. (never fully tested the life) And the watch face looks cool.I tried using all the functionality out of the gate, entering which club I hit, recording distances, scoring including putts, etc. That quickly became overwhelming and in my opinion, takes away from the fun of the sport. I spent way too much time looking down and the watch, and not enjoying the round. I tuned it back to use scoring, and of course, give me ranges. I find the ranges accurate, and good enough that I don’t carry my laser range finder anymore. Really like having distances to the front and back of the green, often that is more important to me than the pin. And of course, the hazard distances are key, you can quickly see bunkers and water distances which really helps with club selection. And it’s quick, no pulling the range finder out of the bag. My one tip, read the manual… so you know how to access some of the features. Once you know the clicks, it easy to get the information you want. My buddy has the S20 and that watch does seem as easy to use as mine.I’ve heard people complain about the ‘locating satellites’ taking too long to find your course but honestly just start the search when you’re 10 mins from the course and you will be fine. It will get the course loaded, and then you can skip that option when you are ready to start the round. If you are wondering if you will miss not having the full map of the hole I can see that concern (like the S60). My perspective, I only need that on courses I have never played. And the map on the watch would be quite small, probably too small for me. (sucks getting old). In those cases, I usually have the yardage book anyways or just open a free Golf GPS app on the phone and get my overview of the hole.I highly recommend this watch and would suggest that if you are on the fence give it a shot. You won’t be disappointed. (and no, I paid for the watch myself… and no one paid me to write this review)

I like itIt is light and distances are correct. There being only one button, it’s taking a while to learn to navigate it. also not sure of tying it to my watch. I must wear close up glasses to read, and the print is pretty small. I ignore most of the messages, E-mails, missed calls, phone not connected, etc. Might skip this part.Really enjoying the S40 for golf and it it stylish for every-day wear.

Needs better battery lifeI had a s20 before I got the s40 and the battery lasted months. I’m lucky if the s40’s battery last 10 days.Other than that it’s a great watch.
