Very important issueWhile the unit works as advertised there is a fatal flaw confirmed by Fusion customer service.I use my iPhone via bluetooth to play my stuff like a lot of people do these days. Every speaker/headphone device I have will let you change volume by using the phone volume buttons except the RA70. It turns out that the iPhone X volume buttons have no effect on the RA70. The company confirmed this is the case and this makes it kinda useless since you then need to use their app to change volume but their app won’t let you use the slider to change what place you are in the song or story. So you then have to go to the apple music player app or audiobook app to rewind or fast forward. It’s incredibly cumbersome this way and the company won’t guarantee which phones actually do work. It’s also dangerous if you’re driving the boat and then have to go through all these steps just to change volume. The only solution is use a different phone or even better, buy a different head unit that actually works properly.

best stereo I have installed on my boatAs far as marine rated stereos this one is the best I have used hands down. Additionally, it has larger buttons and a simplified display which works great while I am moving on the water.I have installed a number of head units in cars and on my boat. The mount was different than the old aluminum slide. It was a plastic plate which had 4 stainless steel screws and mounted clean and easy. The unit is lighter than most and is obviously water proofed better than the other “marine grade” stereos I have used in the past. The wiring is the same as expected from a head unit. The only con I see from this unit is the volume control. It has a 2 zone volume which is great if you have a multi room or crow’s nest on your boat. But it is a glorified fader, I have a 4 speaker set up on a bowrider. So it is a bit annoying.Still a 5 star rating from me. I am very happy with this buy.

I love this radioI love this radio! Its user interface is dirt simple for the average person to understand and operate. Several people can link their phones to the Bluetooth and then you can easily change devices. The sound is phenomenal even without an external amp of subwoofer. It’s easy to replace an existing radio because all you have to do is solder the fusion wires to the existing harness’ color coded wires. It took me 20 minutes of soldering and 10 minutes of fitting in my boat console. A 200% improvement over the crappy Sony “Marine” radio and its far simpler to operate. Get this even if your old radio still works!

Simple controls and the Bluetooth is perfectI took out my couple year old Sony because it was so complicated with all kinds of extra buttons and features which were never used on a boat. I was so pleased with the first one I bought a second for my other boat. Bluetooth is rocksolid reliable and that’s what everybody wants for their music source. No cables / no discs / no usb drives – keep it simple. Cleverly designed weather cover to keep it protected.

Great Unit, Poor Wiring HarnessHere is my email to Fusion Support:I have 2 sets of speakers: Zone 1 is the main cabin, Zone 2 is the fly bridge. Both Left and Right sides of Zone 2 work great when connected to either sets of speakers. The issue is with the Zone 1. Zone 1 Left loses connection when the wiring harness is moved making the speaker cut in/out. Zone 1 Right doesn’t work at all, I can’t get any sound out using this wire. The issue is with the wiring harness because when I hook up main cabin speakers to the Zone 2 wires they work just fine. When I hook up Zone 1 the fly bridge speakers I get the same results: Right doesn’t work and Left cuts in/out.Is it possible to get a new harness? – No. The two options given were to return the entire unit and receive a replacement or purchase a new wiring harness. So now I’m out an additional $25 to purchase/ship a new wiring harness. Disappointing that such a quality product (the stereo is superb) has such a poor quality harness and even worse customer support. The support person was very courteous and prompt.

Awesome sound, nice features and looks goodHonestly, I never really looked into this brand before and after talking to someone about it, I decided to look into it. I installed this on a 26′ Cobia and used 4 Kenwood KFC 1653 Marine Speakers. I was blown away by the quality of sound. It is definitely an upgrade from what I used to listen to. Download app and your phone becomes the remote control. Kids love it too as they can now play their music through the system easily – not sure If I enjoy that as much as they do. I recommend this unit.

Almost perfectLove this radio. Bluetooth is great. The only thing I dislike it that you cannot control the volume with the side buttons of your phone. I was able to do it once like a fluke/glitch/tease but haven’t been able to do it again. App is ok but takes a longer then I’d like to go into it and change the volume. Also having to use a flash drive to preform and update on the model seems a little outdated. Should just be able to use the app like other fusion models.

Great item – quality soundbought this for our boat, and it sounds great. the app for your smartphone is a bit wonky. i don’t use it, but have my iWatch paired to my phone so i can control the volume etc from the source when playing my phone through the radio. it would be nice if the USB plug in was on the front of the unit (with a rubber bezel) as putting a USB stick required getting to the back of the radio which can be problematic depending on your installation. paired this with rockford speakers and it really is great. have an amp for the unit but haven’t installed it as it meets our needs as is so far.recommend this
