Description

The EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III Lens from Canon is a telephoto zoom lens ideal for day-to-day use because it is particularly light and compact, especially given its long focal reach. Able to magnify distant subjects, it also compresses the space between subjects within the frame and with a shallow depth of field at its longer lengths, it offers attractive out of focus bokeh. Its minimum focus distance is 4.9′, even at the telephoto end of its zoom. Versatile telephoto focal range ideal for portraiture and magnifying distant subjects. When used on an APS-C format camera the equivalent focal length range is 120-480mm. Lightweight and compact, weighs only 16.8 oz Autofocus via front group extension system with DC micromotor 4.9′ minimum focus distance throughout the zoom range

Great budget package if you want a nice lens to get closer to those distant subjectsI was pretty surprised to find a lens that was this cheap with the focal lengths I was looking for. The other canon lenses can be up to $2000 for a 75-200 f4. So I just had to try this out, and was pleasantly surprised.I’ve used this lens plenty of times for photos and video since I got it. At 75mm it’s pretty sharp and at 300mm it’s still sharp enough. There are some color artifacts and minor visual issues, but most people who view the images produced by this lens wouldn’t see anything, and I’ve only really noticed them when I’ve been looking for them. Considering how cheap this lens is I think it’s definitely a worth while purchase. The little extensions that come with this package were cheap and fairly awful in my opinion. They made the image through the lens softer and cloudy. I kept mine just in case I want to use it for some artistic effect, but for their advertised function I wouldn’t suggest them. The little filter kit that comes with it is nice to have. I haven’t really used them other than the UV filter (but I just like to have UV filters to protect my lenses from unexpected contact and wear from cleaning). It’s also nice to get a lens hood, soft lens pouch, and some more cleaning supplies.Overall, I’m happy I got this lens, and if you can’t afford a more expensive lens I think this will serve you well until you can afford the upgrade.Oh… um… build quality wise, it’s a plastic barrel that is lightweight but not as sturdy as metal housings. I don’t think there’s any mention about it being weather sealed, and I wouldn’t risk using this in very rainy or sandy situations just in case.

Where’s the beef…The telephoto lense works very well, the remainder of the kit is comprised of substandard, “cost effective” parts that do not fit well or function properly. The filters do not screw in or out of the main lens due to poorly machined threads, and the filter inserts want to flex and distort so they can’t properly do their job, even if they had sufficient material to effectively filter light or provide any protection for the more expensive telephoto outermost lens. I returned this kit as the main lense was the only thing of value, and I subsequently bought the lens separately for a much better price from Amazon.

If you want a zoom lens, just buy the lens. Don’t look for deals with add-on lenses and accessories.I knew I was taking a risk buying a used “like-new” lens. Everything works, just not in the way that I hoped. The 75-300mm lens works very well but if are going to use it hand-held, DO NOT buy it. Without image stabilization, your image WILL be blurry. The two add-on lenses are sh*t and not Canon but I was expecting that! Canon doesn’t make add-on lenses. The telephoto lens, which is actually 0.43X not 0.45X. Plus, if you add this lens onto the zoom lens, it will give you a very narrow picture. With the wide angle lens, it gives a vignette effect because the end of the lens body goes too far out.The only good thing in here is the main lens.

Sports PicturesThis lens allows me to capture my boys playing baseball and soccer really well! No matter where I am standing or sitting.

AmazingEverything was in amazing condition when it arrived! No scratches or any other problems with the lens and filters. I feel the cleaning kit could be a bit better quality for the price, but it is very useable. I got some absolutely amazing pictures of my friends with this lens, with everything from sunspots to colored filters using only a flower! Overall I absolutely loved it!

Very goodVery good lens for the money, use it to take photos of wrestling, and cross country. I’m new to photography and don’t have the budget for high-end lens, but this one takes great photos. Haven’t used filters or other stuff yet, bought it for lens

Do not buy! Misleading!I purchased this bundle for a much anticipated trip to Alaska. The description clearly stated it was compatible with my Canon sx540 PowerShot but the only thing I can actually use is the filter kit. The three lenses are incompatible. I tried different adapters but eventually gave up after it was too late to return. Very disappointed and feel misled. By far the worst thing I’ve purchased on Amazon. I gave it one star because I was forced to otherwise, no stars!
