10 reviews for BlackVue DR590X-2CH with 32GB microSD Card | Full HD Wi-Fi Dashcam | Parking Mode Support

My honest reviewThe camera is very low quality, and for its price I expected much better. The rear camera did not work, when I opened the box the camera looked used and had dust particles all over it, the app is outdated. I bought two garmin dash cam mini’s and they work 100x better. Also my return to this specific company so far has taken over a week, I returned my item on april 22nd and it is now may 5th? Do better.

Poor image quality; cannot see licence platesCannot recommend due to one fatal flaw. The image quality is too poor to make out license plates, so it’s functionality as a dash cam is greatly affected (see attached image for how it looks). The setup wasn’t that bad, but know that you’ll need to format whatever SD card you buy separately to FAT32. You’ll likely need to download a separate program to do this because Windows 10 doesn’t have this option.

CAMERA NEVER TURNED ONWow, I’m so disappointed. This thing does not work. This camera was installed in my car and camera does not even turn on. VERY DISAPPOINTED. I was super excited to finally get my first dash camera. I even paid someone to install it. My money and time wasted. Smh

A good camera is as good as it’s appThe instructions have you wire, mount, and connect the camera to your car with the app connection step last. What happens is that you have a mounted camera, but no way of seeing the view for adjustment because the app flat out does not want to connect to the camera.Auto or manual connection does not work consistently. Once you turn the car off or navigate away from the app, the camera tries to reestablish wireless connection and fails. You have to input the long SSID and default password to reconnect…..everytime! This is unacceptable. If I wanted a non-app/non-cloud dashcam, I would’ve stuck with my Garmin. It’s an awesome camera with excellent resolution except for the fact that it’s 100% completely local storage. I went with BlackVue because of some reviews, but after a day, it went back for a refund.I just can’t believe this day and age no company can make a halfway decent camera/app combo that works. I believe Thinkware is the same way. Guess it’s back to the old ways of local storage…

Great so far!So far all is well. I do have 3 small complaints, but nothing that would cause me to pick a different device. 1. Cannot delete all/specific videos from WiFi controls, can only do this by reformatting. 2. Cannot change the auto-loop time from 1minute intervals, so all videos are only 1 minute long. 3. Swap the double sided tape for better 3m stuff for warm/hot climates. Slight inconveniences at most. Just be nice to have 3-5 minute options and to be able to delete videos instead of reformatting.Otherwise all works perfectly. Buy some fuse taps and the hardwire kit to make it super easy and hide all the wires.

64 GB Card Outside of the Box We opened this package as soon as we got it and we were confused why the 64 GB card was not included since that’s what we purchased. We thought it was odd but decided to request a replacement. When the replacement got here we closed up the first box we got and when we turned the box around to the backside the 64 GB card was stuck in the side of the box. So it ended up having the SD card after all but it wasn’t inside of the sealed box. Before we even opened up the replacement camera we turned the box around and again the 64 GB card was on the outside of the box stuffed between the cardboard. I don’t understand why a sealed package would have the 64 GB card on the outside of the box both times! What’s the point of mailing the package sealed if the card is on the outside of the box?

Okay but not the bestReturned this for three reasons: WiFi keeps turning on and you can’t have it on by default in settings (despite what the manual says), the locking mount is awkward and requires you to disconnect the power cable to take it out, the picture quality is meh – hard to read license plates. Switched to Viofo instead.

Glitchy app and connection.I was looking for a small, sleek design that would be unobtrusive in my car. I read the positive reviews reviews and decided to order. I had the unit professionally installed at Best Buy. Setting up the connection was fairly straightforward but I noticed the connection was spotty. It would disconnect randomly when trying to view or download video. About 3 weeks in, the front camera stopped working. I returned and reordered another set, had them them installed again by Best Buy and they seemed to work. Then the rear camera stopped connecting. I took it back to Beat Buy to check the connection and they found the hardware in working order. After talking to the manufacturer with no solution, I once again took it to Beat Buy to uninstall and return. So to recap, I ordered two different units that both failed. The factory support was lacking and they pointed me back to Amazon or the seller for resolution. I would not recommend this product.

DisappointedThis camera system requires a very expensive monthly fee to run it. The extra disappointment added to the wound is that it is a 2 channel and the extra camera requires another expensive monthly fee added. I originally bought this camera system because it hooks up to my phone by WiFi.Now I’m passed the 30day return and stuck with it! Total disappointment all around.Nothing was mentioned about paying a monthly fee just to view the live feed from the camera as well as only having a 10min maximum of recorded wifi signal.

?????Hope this camera is better overall than last DR650GW 2CH I had b4 this DR590X-2CH. Blackvue is still using some outdated technology ie. Fat32 instead of far newer/better versions on it’s SD Cards.Whenever Blackvue updated firmware it wud take a few hour of playing with app. to get it working somewhat properly. Used to dread downloading their updates….
