DRAGON’S Den newbie Steven Barlett clashed with Peter Jones as they went head to head over a product this evening.

Steven – who is the youngest ever Dragon  – joined the panel this series and has been appearing alongside Peter Jones, Sara Davies, Deborah Meaden, and Touker Suleyman as entrepreneurs pitch their ideas.

Steven Barlett was not impressed with Peter Jones
Peter branded Steven an ‘upstart’

During tonight’s episode he took an interest in a sustainable DIY business called EcoUnion Ltd.

Husband and wife Joel and Nicki Buckley were asking for £85,000 in return for 10% of the business.

But as Steven tried to register his interest, Peter told them: “You’ve lost the plot already.”

Steven quipped: “Because they want me?”

The pair starting bickering, so the entrepreneur had to step in and told them: “Hang on, one at a time…”

Peter ranted: “He’s the new upstart, come on. Come one, give me a break!”

Steven got his own back and branded him a “vampire” after he offered the couple all of their money in return for 20% of the business, which was double that they were asking for.

In the end, neither Steven or Peter were picked, and the entrepreneurs decided to strike up a deal with Deborah Meaden.

Steven hit headlines last week after his interview with Molly-Mae Hague on his podcast The Diary of a CEO went viral for her controversial comments on poverty.

The businessman, 29, insisted that Molly-Mae was being “crucified” for her success because she’s a woman.

He said no one cared when men made similar comments on the podcast.

Defending the PrettyLittleThing creative director, Steven said the “double standard that successful women face” is “crazy”.

He also blasted the “absolutely outrageous” level reality star Molly-Mae is held to at just 22 years old.

The couple decided to go with Deborah in the end
