Martha Stewart, a renowned business and cultural icon is gearing up to drop her second NFT collection on marthafreshmint.com. A press release unveiled this news on November 22, noting that the collection features 100 Thanksgiving-themed photos. Among these pieces is an animated NFT dubbed The First Thanksgiving “remembering” 1994.

According to the news release, The First Thanksgiving “remembering” 1994 is a story-based animated NFT that memorializes the first Thanksgiving that Martha hosted for her family. Apart from this piece, the collection features photoshoots from Martha Stewart Living, a famed home magazine. The NFTs feature pictures of pies, sandwiches, cornucopias, and strategically-arranged rooster sculptures in various styles.

Reportedly, Stewart worked on this collection together with Tokns Commerce, a licensee and NFT solutions provider for iconic brands and world-class creators. The pieces in the collection have different prices, with the cheapest artworks being photorealistic photos, which are going for $100. Palette knife, watercolor, and oil painting restyles cost $500.

Impressionist NFTs are going for $1,000, and the most expensive piece in the collection is the animated NFT, which is currently listed on OpenSea. Bidding for this piece starts at 3 ETH ($12,698.46).

Not an NFT newbie

Explaining what inspired her to drop a Thanksgiving-themed NFT collection, Stewart said,

Storytelling is a bit of a lost art, so I am thrilled to be bringing it into the world of NFTs just in time for the holidays. It was nostalgic for me to re-read my first ‘Remembering’ article from nearly 30 years ago. I enjoyed recounting and recording the story of that first Thanksgiving in my own home, burned turkey and all.

While Stewart’s entry into the NFT space might come as a surprise to many, it is worth noting that she is quickly becoming famous in the space. Before this collection, Stewart, who Time Magazine recently dubbed the Queen of Thanksgiving, sold out her first Halloween NFT collection in the past month.

In the Halloween collection, she dressed up for an NFT titled Naughty Nurse. This piece was recently resold for 4.1 ETH (roughly $16,970). She also dressed up as a character in one of Roy Lichtenstein’s comic books. This piece sold for 1 ETH ($4,139).

Although it remains unclear who is purchasing Stewart’s NFTs, given her fans’ demographic, her NFT website features educational content to make it easy for fans to understand NFTs. The website comprises a FAQ section that answers common questions about the nascent collectibles space.
