Following his suspension from Twitter, President Donald Trump was back on his preferred social media platform on Friday morning with a defense of his supporters.
Although Trump delivered prepared remarks in a video Thursday night calling the capitol siege a “heinous attack” and that those involved “will pay,” he defended his supporters in his return to Twitter on Friday.
The 75,000,000 great American Patriots who voted for me, AMERICA FIRST, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, will have a GIANT VOICE long into the future. They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape or form!!!

“The 75,000,000 great American Patriots who voted for me, AMERICA FIRST, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, will have a GIANT VOICE long into the future,” the president tweeted. “They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape or form!!!”
Trump has frequently claimed any criticism of him or denunciation of his character amounts to an attack on his supporters, even going so far as to accuse his own Supreme Court nominees of “going out of their way to hurt all of us” during his rally right before the siege on Wednesday.
